A Free Project For You! Embellished Ornaments Card of the Day!

Hello, Stampers!

After last week's struggles with the Big Shot and our Embellished Ornaments Framelits, I went back to the drawing board.  I suspected that my warped cutting plates might be the problem and they were!!   I switched to my nice and flat cutting plates that were usually reserved for embossing folders and...success!! So here is the recipe that works really well for framelits and the Big Shot:

  • Magnetic Platform
  • Plastic Cutting Plate
  • Used Dryer Sheet
  • Cardstock
  • Parchment Paper
  • Plastic Cutting Plate
  • Fire Away!!

For this cheery Christmas card, I used the outline of the ornament framelit before embossing the front of the card with the Decorative Dots Textured Embossing Folder.  I added a 3 3/4"x 5" sheet of Whisper White paper to the inside of the card.

I used Gold Foil 12x12 paper for the ornament and attached it to the blue cutout left from the front of the card.  I also added a Gold Glimmer Paper ornament top, though it's hard to see in the picture.

I used snail glue on the back of the ornament and pushed it through the opening in the front of the card base to attach it to the inside of the card.

I then attached a quick banner using a sentiment from the "To You and Yours" stamp set from the holiday catalog. I attached a Basic Gold Button that I'd threaded with the new (love it!) Gold cording that is also available in silver and a bow made with the new Glitter Ribbon.  Voila!

Below you'll find a list of the items I used for this card.

Happy Stamping!
