August SOS Stampers' Meeting

Our first project used Floral Framelits and Daydream Medallions done up in Marina Mist.

I used a card that we made at last weekend's stamp camp in Jacksonville as the basis for this project.  We added ribbon, pearls, and lots of pretty vintage stamping inside and on the envelope.

Trudy, Claudia, Barbara, Jean (Barbara's mom who is visiting from Niagara Falls), Aileen (Barbara's daughter visiting from Kansas) & Donna.  Susan is off to Colorado and we hope Elise is feeling better.  "Hi" to Michelle too!

Our next meeting is September 25 from 6:30-9:30 pm at The Oasis.  Our hostess is Claudia.

Thanks to all for supporting our hostesses with your orders!!

Mojo Mondays at the Gallery

Lavinia, Helen, Jo, Candace & Debby between projects.  Why is that table so neat?????

Our first card used scallop punches and a Midnight Muse and Vanilla  color palette.

I love this card that I learned to make at a recent workshop in Jacksonville.  Shades of  Soft Suede and Crumb Cake give a vintage flavor to this 3-dimensional card.

Our next meetings will be on Monday, September 24.  You can sign up for the 10:30 am class or the 1:30 pm.  We'll be making a pretty greeting card and the cutest little Halloween bag ever!

Don't forget to sign up for a Christmas Cards and Gifts Workshop!

Congratulations, Helen, for finding the secret message.  You'll receive an Art Gallery Cards tote!

Hi, Gals!  Another FABULOUS Monday!  Those Art Gallery Stampin' Gals are just the most fun.  We talk and laugh but we manage to get our projects completed in the allotted time!  I could not ask for a better time than spending it with other stampers!

This week we reprised our beautiful shoe card in the morning class.  Such fun to use these beautiful stamps and to make our polka dots with what else--pencil erasures.  We embossed using a combination of Melon Mambo embossing powder and a little Dazzling Diamonds thrown in.  Quick Tip***Rub a used dryer sheet over your cardstock before you apply your VersaMark.   By the way if you are first to follow me on my blog you get one of my new personalized bags. This will keep the static and random embossing powder down.**  Debby and Nancy made fabulous cards but I'm sad that I didn't get pictures of the morning class.
Purses, purses, purses!!
Lots of sponge-painting and distressing go on here!
The afternoon class revisited the petite purse project and along with the morning class made beautiful Open Seas cards with a brown color palette.  I found an ancient stamp from my collection that reads, "A light, a compass, a beacon true--My life is richly blessed by you."  So perfect!!
Afternoon Stampers from left:  Georgie, Jo, Lois, Helen and Lavinia
I was just thinking, as I noticed just a small part of the artwork in the education room at The Gallery, how fortunate we are to have a lovely, peaceful, art-filled atmosphere in which to work.  Thank you, Gallery!!

More beautiful greeting cards are coming up for next week!!
Happy Stamping!!

Fabulous Stamping Friends and Fabulous Shoes!!

Ah, yes!  You can never have enough of either fabulous friends or fabulous shoes!!  So the greeting goes inside our pretty floral pump card!  We embossed with a combination of Melon Mambo embossing powder with a little Dazzling Diamonds glitter thrown in for good measure and pretty sparkles.  Art Gallery stampers are always so creative and bold.  They're not afraid to make their cards unique!  I love that their confidence has grown beyond having to do everything exactly like the prototype card!  Good for you, gals!!  BTW, we made our perfect polka dots with pencil erasers.
I must admit that I love the Faith in Nature stamp set and I'm so glad that it was carried over to the 2012-13 Idea Book!  We used blender pens to shad the pear with Perfect Plum and Pear Pizzazz (Retired) inks.  A lovely, relaxing afternoon was had by all, with plenty of laughs and a variety of fun techniques.

By popular demand, we'll reprise our pretty petite purses for this coming Monday's class.  We'll also create a greeting card with an assortment of greeting stamps available to meet stampers' needs.
Happy Stamping!
