Sweet Kisses!

April 16 started off with sweet treats to accompany the theme of our first creation, the Hershey Kiss card.  We punched a blossom petal and trimmed it to make the "kiss" and then just attached it to a square of crumpled aluminum foil.  We stamped the blue and white banners with a variety of greetings so the card could be used for Fathers' Day, birthdays, get well or thinking of you.  You can't miss with a red, black and silver color combo!!

Next we went to a soft color palette to create a Mothers' Day/Get Well/Congratulations card.  Spring butterflies grace the textured background, with the cut-out butterflies being popped out with an adhesive dimensional.  The Art Gallery stampers are a talented, friendly, and creative group.  We love how all of our creations are similar but not exactly alike!!  Next week:  a pretty pop-up card and a great "organic" multi-purpose card.  We always try to have extra sentiments to meet everyone's needs.

Discovery's Final Flight
And of course, this week we all gathered to see Discovery on it's way to Washington D.C. atop the beautiful and majestic 747.  We went to the beach early for the sunrise and then caught our breaths and shed a tear to see the final flight as it flew over the ocean turned around in Satellite Beach and came back for us to have one last look.

Final Farewell!  Sniff!

A little bonus:  An Air Force One 747 from the fleet sat atop the tarmac at Patrick Air Force Base.  Probably backup for the President, who was in South America at the time.  We got a good long look as traffic was backed up for 1/2 hour!  :-)

Spring Gift Bags!

Greetings!  April has found us creating gift bags and, of course, some great cards too.  We met on Monday, April 9, to create two gift bags--His and Hers.  His is a Tuxedo design with a matching Tuxedo enclosure card that actually fits in a holder created by the greeting.  Hers is a pretty combination of Celery and Melon colored flowers, complete with rhinestone brads, matching ribbons, and dotted swiss embossing.  We stamped the enclosure card and attached it to the handle with celery/white baker's twine.  The gals will be using them for upcoming birthdays, graduations, and wedding showers.

No manic Mondays for us at the Gallery!!

Creative Mondays At The Gallery

Another super Monday at The Gallery!  These creative chicas are always up for a challenge, no matter how many small bits of this and that I give them!  I created the prototype birdhouse card from a card made originally by Kathryn Pritchard.  It is always a hit and so easily adapted for an anniversary, get well, "hello" or wedding shower card.

Here are the gals, busy creating!
Left to right:  Doreen, Lavinia, Helen and Judy showing off their handiwork.
By the way......Congratulations to Helen (our resident cardmaker/"real artist") and one of the Art Gallery Founders, for winning multiple awards this past weekend.  You can see her amazing work  by clicking this link!

We also used a bright Island Indigo and Daffodil Delight to create a fun, retro greeting card.  Just sayin', if one of my students leaves a blog comment, they'll receive a prize this coming Monday at class.  This one goes together quickly--I'm sure a welcome relief after the major construction involved with our birdhouse.

Next week we'll create two GOJUS gift bags with matching tags--one very feminine and one masculine.  Can't wait!!
