December Scrapbook

It's hard to believe we've had the last few workshops of 2012!  I'm sure that 2013 will bring many fun gatherings and creative times together!!
Here are a few of my December memories:
If it's Monday, we're at The Gallery!  So many good times and wonderful creative chicas!
Our final Gallery workshop!  We stamped tissue and melted the images into the beautiful candles you see.  (New Year's Resolution:  NEVER forget to bring camera so that we have more than these grainy photos!!!)
Sweet and simple on the outside.  You'd never guess that the inside is the rosette fold 3-4 layer Christmas Tree.  A challenge but great results!!

Here is one of my favorite designs.  Textured, punched mittens.  Helen, one of the Gallery artists and one of our long time card makers, added an ornament top to her circle (love it!) and hung her mittens from the greeting!  Terrific!
Everyone--Open House Sunday Gals, SOS Stampers and the Art Gallery Stampers got a chance to make this fun origami-style card.
Thank you, Art Gallery Stamping Gals:  Debby, Becky, Nancy, Jo, Joan, Linda, Barbara and Barbara :), Phylis, Rebecca, Helen, Alice and Dora.
Happy New Year to all of you!  See you on January 7!!
What's worse than my phone camera?  NO camera!  Such was the case at our Dec. 2 Open House Sunday.  We had a great time stamping together and also created a "Christmas Pen" with a little holiday Designer Series Paper.

Many thanks to:  Helen, Phylis, Kathy, Joan, Joan CZ, Barbara C & Alice!
Our SOS Stampers met at the home of Vera Witt on Tuesday, December 18!  I must pay homage to Vera for the best mac 'n cheese I have ever enjoyed.  (I don't normally even EAT mac 'n cheese but now she has caused me to crave it!!)  Vera, Elise and Michelle had a lovely spread of delicious foods and desserts!  Thank you, gals!!  Donna, Claudia, Barbara, Susan, Trudy, Terri, Vera, Elise and Michelle.

Thank you for a wonderful 2012, everyone!

A Little Out of Order But.......

Hey, Gals!

Mondays are always fun and relaxed (er well....unless it is the notorious "Fun Fold Card" or the 3-layer folded Christmas Tree card LOL) and this Monday was no different.  (Miss you Nancy and Joan!!)

Darn!  Please forgive me, Geri and Mary! I didn't get my camera out during your fun morning class.  Next time!

Jo, Becky, Debby and Helen in our great classroom at The Gallery.

We created a beautiful all-occasion card
in hues of Rich Razzleberry, Midnight Muse and Old Olive.  We always stamp inside and out AND we stamp matching envelopes too!
Our second card was an organic birthday card.  We used Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze and texturized the card front with the square lattice embossing folder.
Our talented stampers' creations!!

Don't forget next Monday's (Dec. 17) last class of the year!
Join us for the fun!!!

Stamping Fun at the Cards and Gifts Workshop--December 12

Hello, Creative Chicas!

Another great day at the Gallery!  We made a total of 24 cards and 8 projects in 4 hours!  (I should have had coffee available at about 3 pm! :-))

Our stampers, however, were up to any task.  Two of the gals were new to stamping but you would never know by their work and their results!!  All of our projects are level 4 & 5!  No beginner's stuff here!!

Thank you, Joyce, Rebecca and Mayra for the opportunity to do what I love so much--create and share.

Techniques we used included:
Heat Embossing
Embossing Folders
Die Cuts
Here are a few pix of the day!

Our next regular class is this coming Monday from 1:30-3:30 at the Art Gallery of Viera.  It's BYOC day!  Bring your own pillar candle or LED candle and we will transform them into a beautifully decorated gift.  We'll also stamp some Christmas gift wrap and create an all-occasion card!  Make your reservation at today!!

Here are a few photos of our fun afternoon!

Happy Stamping!
A+ Stampers from left:  Mayra, Joyce, Rebecca

Everyone got to create 4 stamped tile coasters.

Because the group was relatively small, we were able to have everyone do both "projects", the coasters and the cute hot cocoa pouch on the left.  A big shoutout to terrific galpal and SU Demo in Greer, NC, Linda Williamson, for the cocoa pouch idea.  Friends share!!
We made 2 each of the 3 card designs.  The insides of the cards are stamped and so are the matching envelopes.

The Week That Was......Wonderful!

Hey, Stampers!

I've just had a real solid week of creativity with so many wonderful gals!  Starting out with Open House Sunday, some of my Stampin' Up stampers and some "new to Open House" stampers came for the tree trimming.  That would be the trimming of our two Christmas cards--The tea-bag fold and the circle fold.  We had a terrific time of gabbing, laughing, snacking, stamping, folding and embossing with Barbara, Joan CZ, Joan C, Kathy, Phylis, Alice and Helen!  It doesn't get any better!

Then on to Monday! I got to meet two new gals, Mary and Geri, at the early Gallery class where we made a birthday card and a cute Christmas Gum cover gift.  You can see our work below.  We revisited those same projects with our afternoon stampers.  Too much fun in one day!!

On Wednesday our 3rd (of 4) Christmas Projects/Gifts Workshop took place at the Gallery with 12 enthusiastic (and wonderfully helpful and flexible) stampers.  We made 6 Christmas cards and then stampers had a choice of stamped tile coasters or a hot cocoa gift folder.

We ended up with 72 cards and 12 beautiful projects.  My thanks goes out to all of the gals!!

Here are some pictures of our recent activities:
Monday morning stampers, Mary and Geri.

Monday afternoon:  Jo, Becky, Debby, Helen, Nancy and Melissa.

Wednesday workshop busy bees.

Anita puts the finishing touches on her stamped tile coasters.

With my rushing around so much, I apologize for not getting great pictures of ALL of the great gals there! I have to work on my skills!

A huge thank you to all of this week's stampers!!  Life is good!!

Oh, Christmas Tree.....

Such fun we had last Monday.  We made two adorable cards with the help of punches, embossing folders, Framelits, Designer Series Paper with a little origami thrown in.  Check it out!
How cute is this?  This is Helen's always original treatment of our mittens card.
We made these cute Christmas tree cards by folding 3 different sized squares.
Here are all of our cards lined up!
Our fun group included Phylis, Jo, Joan, Debby, Nancy and Helen.

(So sorry that you need a magnifying glass for the pictures.  These were taken with my phone and they pixelate when I try to enlarge them.  I'll make a point to use my camera from now on so that I can upload directly.)

It's Beginning To Look a Lot Like......

Jo, Joan, Becky, Debby, Nancy and Helen,
our talented (and fun) stampers
for the day.

Our fancy silver ornament card.

Our gals hard at work (play!).

Here are some pics of our Art Gallery Cards' talented gals' creations on Monday, November 12. Don't forget our last Christmas Cards and Gifts Workshop is coming on Wednesday, December 5, Noon to 4 pm at the Gallery.
Happy Holiday Stamping!!

Christmas is Coming!!

Such fun on November 5!
Margie and Susan came to our morning class!  Terrific gals with great skills!

Monica, Christine, Dorothy and Jo created in the afternoon class.  Such a fun and crafty group of gals.  We missed Helen who was taking in projects for the gifts show at the Gallery.  We made sure that she got a set of the cards.

Here are our creations, a pretty vintage card that featured "Joy" created with  gold embossing powder.  We also made a 3-dimensional card with gold or silver embossing powder.  The ornament shapes were cut out with framelits and the Big Shot!

Fredericksburg "Nutsy" Sisters' Reunion!

This past weekend we gathered at the home of one of our Class of '63 classmates for a great reunion that included a lot of laughter and reminiscing and a little stamping on one chilly and damp afternoon.  We created, giggled and enjoyed making our watercolor crayon greeting card.  With the fireplaces roaring in Marge's beautiful and comfortable home, all of the gals made a beautiful card--a first for several.  Life is good!  I miss my Class of '63 friends but we all look forward to our 50th class reunion next year.  Here's is a quick look at some of our weekend activities!

Bobbie, "Turn Me Loose" Barb, Ree, Karen, Anne, Peggy, Nancy, Sally, Lois, Marge and Sharon
The Ohio State fans, Sally, Peggy, Marge, & Barb, spell out O-H-I-O.  They had plenty of victory dances as OSU scored more than 60 points!  (Our high school is in Canal Fulton, Ohio.)
Great cardmakers Sally, Bobbie, Barb, Karen, (Me), Peggy and Sharon.

Marge and Moses live on the Rappahannock River in Fredericksburg, Va.  We (Karen, Ree, Sally, Peggy and Bobbie) hiked down to the beautiful, clear, swiftly running river.  (They have 5 acres of property.)  (Yes, I am looking pretty doofy in my skirt and an extra pair of Marge's gym shoes.)
Here's one of our "Nutsy" card games.  It looks like Karen just yelled  "Nutsy".  Sally and Bobbie won the first round.

To continue the perfection of a fun, warm and beautiful get-together, on our final morning together we had the good fortune to see a doe and her fawn just outside a downstairs window.  Peggy spotted it and alerted us.
Thank you, Marge, and all of the Class of '63 "Nutsy Sisters"!!

I Love Your Googly, Ghoulish Eyes! LOL

Michelle, Michelle and Ana at our am class.
Helen, Jo and Lavinia at our afternoon class.

Hello, Lovely, Creative Chicas!

We just keep rolling along!  This past Monday we enjoyed making a Halloween treat bag and a pretty floral card that featured "watercoloring" with aqua-writers.  Here are some samples of our "work".  It is so relaxing to paint with the aqua-writer--like a mini trip to the spa.

We'll be meeting with both the 10:30 am and 1:30 pm classes so confirm your spot in class with an email by this Saturday afternoon so that I can cut, trim and get everything at the ready for you. We will be creating a Halloween card (The google eyes were a total hit!) and a pretty card that can be stamped for a congratulatory event, thank you or birthday.

Below is our October and November schedule and below that is a flyer for our Christmas workshops on Oct. 31 and Nov. 10.  Let me know if you would like to bring your little creative chica with you (daughter) on Nov. 10 at no extra charge.  I know I have several gals that have expressed an interest and I love Mom/Daughter activities.

Have a great rest of the week!!  Creatively yours, Ree
(I definitely needed Michelle's BIG flash!)
